Professional tenor sax built within Yamaha’s Atelier Special program, representing a limited production Custom Z finished with unique cosmetic and tonal appointments not commonly found in the standard lineup. This instrument features Yamaha’s Custom Z body design with a medium-large bore for quick response and excellent tonal flexibility, paired with the Custom V1 neck for a focused core and strong projection. The rare dark lacquer finish gives the horn a striking appearance while enhancing clarity and presence. Additional features include a hand-engraved bell, blue steel springs for a crisp and responsive key feel, no high F# key, rib-mounted construction for stability and durability, and Yamaha’s refined Custom Z ergonomics that feel balanced and natural under the hands. This example remains in like-new condition, originally purchased as a demo and essentially unplayed since. Exceptionally clean with minimal signs of use — this instrument has been clearly well cared for and presents very close to “like new.” Serial # F071xx. Consignment horn, sold-as; evaluated by our repair staff and found to be in excellent playing condition, with no outstanding mechanical issues at time of sale.
