This Selmer Alto Clarinet is a wood alto clarinet made in France in 1958. It features a two-piece wood body, plateau-style keywork, and a carbon fiber band on the lower joint for added support. Selmer woodwinds from this era are known for their French-made craftsmanship and warm tonal character, making this a unique option for schools, clarinet choirs, and low-clarinet players. It has been professionally repadded and serviced by our in-house repair technicians to ensure maximum playability, including new corks, felts, and all new pads. It was repadded with Allied 413 tan kid pads and includes a new Allied hard-sided case.
This is a good choice for a school program, clarinet choir, community band, collector, or player looking for a wood alto clarinet with vintage character and a properly serviced setup. The wood body offers a warmer, more resonant sound than many plastic alto clarinets, while the professional repad makes it ready for regular playing. When purchased in-store, this instrument includes a 1-year RMMR warranty covering corks, felts, pads, and minor adjustments. Please note that the warranty is not valid on shipped sales.
