The Harmon Model B Trumpet Wow-Wow Mute is the classic Harmon mute sound: bright, buzzy, and smoky, with the kind of jazz color associated with players like Miles Davis. Harmon describes the Model B as the "Original Harmon Wow-Wow mute", with a removable stem that creates two distinct tone colors.
With the stem installed, players can create the familiar "wah-wah" effect by moving the hand near the stem opening. With the stem removed, the mute produces the more open, hollow Harmon sound often called for in jazz band, solo, and big band literature. Harmon also notes that this handcrafted aluminum mute plays evenly from low Fb to high C.
