The Harmon J3 Triple Play Trombone Mute is a combo mute designed to give trombone players multiple mute sounds from one piece of gear. The removable cup section allows the player to use it as a cup mute or as a straight mute, which makes it a practical option for students, jazz bands, pit work, and players building a basic mute collection without carrying extra hardware.
This is especially useful when a player needs both common mute colors for concert band, jazz band, or musical theatre parts. The aluminum construction keeps the response clear and direct, while the combo design gives players more flexibility than a single-purpose mute.
