The Harmon J1 Triple Play Trumpet Mute is a versatile combo mute that can function as both a cup mute and a straight mute. Harmon lists this model as the Model J1 Trumpet Cup / Straight Combo Mute, making it a useful all-in-one option for trumpet players who need more than one standard mute sound in their case.
This mute is a strong choice for students, advancing players, and jazz band musicians who may see both " straight mute" and " cup mute" markings in their music. The removable cup design gives players a brighter, more direct straight-mute sound when the cup is off, and a warmer, more covered cup-mute color when attached.
